A Royal Halloween- Princess Party

I was recently given an opportunity to check out the fabulous Cinderella Bluray celebrations at Walmart and throw a princess themed Halloween party.

Being pretty busy lately, I have shied off a bit from big parties and projects- but my SON of all people is really, really into Cinderella lately. He loves the mice. We watch it for a few minutes everyday (the scene where Gus is stuck in the trap and comes to join the mice, along with when the mice make Cinderella’s dress have him in stitches everytime).

We also have some Cinderella obsessed friends, so it was a no-brainer. Cinderella’s royal Halloween Ball was happening!

First, I headed out to Walmart with the Royal Ball Augmented Reality app. I LOVE these apps- they make shopping a lot more fun! You can see more about it here and pictures from my trip in my G+ album.

While I had planned to make some elaborate decorations, I was pretty pleased when I got to Walmart.

Not only was there a fun Cinderella display (which I actually had to drive to a different Walmart than my own to find- but it was well worth it), but the party section had some awesome princess finds.

I quickly ditched my original ideas in favor of some fabulous Cinderella branded items, and I am so glad I did. The girls LOVED all the Cinderella swag and it made party prep SO easy. Normally, I would spend hours on handmade touches to make everything special and unique- but Walmart had great prices on party supplies (really… I couldnt make everything for less) and when it comes to kids parties- they honestly loved everything exactly as it was- and it was so much less fuss. It was perfect- just like any Royal Ball should be!

I took the time I saved setting up to carefully pin up and sew Princess B’s Cinderella costume to fit her- seeing as how I was dead set on one sized 4-8, and I have a 6 month old baby. I can simply remove my seams as she grows, and she will have a fun fancy-dress for her dress-up bin for a long time. Love it!

As the Princesses entered the party, they were greeted with a little Cinderella “Princess Party” Banner and a table I set up with favor bags, magic wands, and tiaras to complement their pretty princess dresses.

We had our dining room table set up to serve as the center of the festivities- it was loaded up with lots of fun Cinderella decorations, sticker activity books and loads of Cinderella and princess themed sweet treats.

There was the glass slipper and tiara centerpiece…

Royal place settings comprised of a cupcake (with Cinderella wrapper and topper) and a tiara on top of a Cinderella plate with lemonade out of Cinderella cups (and of course, it was on a beautiful Cinderella tablecloth).

I stacked cake plates in the center of the table to display cupcakes and cookies (giving them some dramatic visual height), and placed my easy blinged out pumpkin atop a dish sitting on a candlestick as a tribute to Cinderella’s pumpkin coach.

I also added some fun table toppers of Cinderella on the table which I then gave to our pretty princesses when they left so they could set their own princess tables (which was a huge hit).

I also found some amazing cookie decorations in a princess theme. They a like little sugar printed decals you can place onto cookies or cakes to dress them up in seconds. It made serving simple frosted sugar cookies a little more fun.

How cute are the Cinderella cupcake toppers? Talk about easy- I was able to make store bought cupcakes with store bought icing and dress them up. Saved me a ton of time, and I love how they look like a bunch of Cinderellas dancing!

I also found some adorable imported Italian marshmallows in adorable shapes that I placed out in little white dishes (the cupcake looking treats in the picture above).

Overall, it was a huge success! The kids had a blast, and with the great selection of Cinderella supplies at Walmart, it was really, really easy to pull together for me.

Here’s a few snaps of some of our Princesses enjoying the sweets in action:

Are you planning on throwing a pretty princess themed Halloween party for your non-spooky lovers? I’d love to hear about your plans if you are!
