Prize provided to winner by Vitamix. I was provided a Vitamix to use and review with no promise of content creation. All opinions are 100% my own, as always.
I recently discovered Vitamix. Have you ever heard of them?
Vitamixes are strong, sturdy blenders- but also food processors, ice cream makers, grain mills, and professional quality kitchen machines. You probably think I am a little insane gushing about a blender, and I questioned them when I first heard about them.
But Vitamixes really ARE worth all of the hype!
If you are new here, let me fill you in on a little secret my friends already know: I’m pretty lazy. Like, when I say things like “I made detox smoothies and fresh hazelnut spread”, know that I mean I tossed things into the blender. And flipped a switch.
I don’t love to spend a ton of time prepping, chopping, doing extra work. But this blender took that all away!
It chopped whole beets. It pulverized whole roasted nuts. It whips ice into light, fluffy crystals just like a frappuchino (which totally makes sense since Starbucks uses Vitamixes to make their lovely blended coffees).
And this blender comes with a STIR STICK! People, this is flipping genius. Where has this been all my life? Its a tough stick you can pop into the lid and use to move the ingredients around so they are processed easily and uniformly. No more unchopped bits at the top, stuck food, or weird textures- just stir the shake as you go!
Vitamix also has a ton of delicious, easy and fresh recipe ideas. I cant wait to use it for fresh salsa and ice cream this summer!
I tried a juice fast to jumpstart weightless earlier this year, and LOVED making fresh fruit and veggie smoothies in my blender, like some yummy detox smoothies, like this delicious Berry & Beet Detox Smoothie.
1 cup strawberries,
1 cup blueberries
1 cup raspberries
1 whole red beet
1 handful of spinach
a handful of ice cubes
a splash of lemon juice
6 oz cold water
optional- diet drink mix (like slimfast, etc), vanilla protein powder or other supplement
Blend on low to start and then high after you notice that larger chunks have been chopped.
I even tried my hand at making some delicious, fresh and totally unprocessed Chocolate Hazlenut butter that has no added preservatives or sugar, but is just as yummy as Nutella (“Not”-ella, anyone?):
Ok, so I know you’re totally into it now and are dying to get your hands on one of these fabulous gadgets- and you’re in luck because Vitamix is giving a brand new 5200 away to one lucky winner!
