I was recently give a chance to check out the David Tutera Bridal Collection and some of the fabulous supplies they offer for DIY wedding decor and accessories.
I wrote this post as part of a sponsored campaign with Darice and The Blueprint Social. The opinions in this post are my own.
The line is a crystal-packed, silver and sparkly mixture of hair pins, table decor, wedding favors, accessories and more – perfect to help inspire any bride (or party planner!!) with plenty of ideas to add special touches to their event without breaking the bank, or spending too much time (because before a wedding or a big party, who has extra time??).
I was instantly inspired to take the super girly, blinged out touches and pair them with rustic elements to create an elegant, rustic barrel bar with an old bourbon barrel we have on hand as a kind of his-style-meets-her-style display that would be a fabulous addition to any event. A few of these drink and favor stations sprinkled around a large outdoor space would be a fabulous accent to any event!
First, I started off with a bunch of white Hydrangeas ($7 at my local grocery store), and a full spray of baby’s breath ($4 at my store), and trimmed them to fit mason jars I picked out.
I then took canvas and burlap, long enough to wrap around the jars and varying widths, cut a small hole in them to mark where the pins would be secured, and wrapped them around the jars- securing them in place with snap pins, hair pins and an accent pin.
I love how cute the crystal-topped bubble wands look in this canvas wrapped jar! And seriously, it takes under five minutes to make this little accent. Making enough for hundreds of guests would take no longer than 30 minutes- it is such a perfect way to easily display bubble wands and have them scattered around so everyone can access them easily!
You don’t have to spend hours making decor and drop hundreds of dollars… this collection helped me bring this lovely display together easily.
And how fabulous do these simple grocery store flowers look? If you keep them in monochromatic bunches, they look elegant just as-is. No need to spend hours tweaking!
One thing I could not get enough of from this collection- the lovely fairy lights. They are battery operated to be completely portable, and SO adorable! They are on a silver wire and completely bendable. Expect to see a few more projects featuring these, because I am in love!!!
I simply wrapped them around the barrel and tucked the battery pack on top of the back of the barrel. Because they are on a wire, they stay in place really easily without fuss.
I love the way this all came together… and I can’t wait to throw some parties using these fun touches!
At first I thought it might be weird to use hair pins as clasps to secure fabric on a jar… but it works perfectly. Just think… they are designed to hold through big bridal hair! (leave it to a girl who couldn’t get volume to save her life to find different uses for hair pins!!).
