Easy Delicious Chicken Skillet Nachos
I love nachos. Nachos are like the quintessential busy night meal- hearty, hot, and soooo delicious. I’ve been trying to up my nacho game lately and move away from the cheese and chips are what you’re getting because I am frazzled and didn’t prepare dinner- kthanksbye- and these Chicken Skillet Nachos are super delicious!
They are loaded with delicious chicken taco flavor, with a ton of veggies mixed in!
These delicious chicken skillet nachos are based off my unbelievably easy Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Bowl recipe – it’s the perfect base for chicken nachos! These nachos are so good- they are sure to become your favorite in no time!!
How to Make Chicken Skillet Nachos
First assemble the following ingredients:
- Olive oil
- Ground Chicken
- Taco seasoning
- Diced tomatoes with green chilis
- Tortilla chips
- Sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- Olives
- Jalapenos
- Cilantro and tomatoes
Once you have assembled the ingredients, use the following method
Cook the chicken. Heat oil in a heavy bottom pan over medium heat. Add the ground chicken and cook for a few minutes. Add the taco seasoning and tomatoes with green chilis. Cook about 5 minutes, remove from the heat and set chicken aside.
Layer and bake. On a sheet pan, or in the heavy-duty pan, add tortilla chips. Top with the chicken then shredded cheese. Bake at 350 degrees till bubble and slightly brown. Top with tomatoes, cilantro, and jalapenos, serve hot!
Tips and Tricks for Perfect Chicken Skillet Nachos
Spread it out for a crowd. If you want to make this for a crowd, make it in a large sheet pan like this one.
Layer the cheese. If you want to keep things even throughout the skillet set the chips in a single layer, spread the cheese generously then you can add another layer.
Make as you want them. These do not reheat well so it’s best to keep the everything separate until you want to make a batch of nachos.
FAQs
Unfortunately, leftovers for this do not keep very well. You can keep them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days but they taste best when made fresh.

Ingredients
- 1 tsp olive oil
- 1 lb ground chicken
- 2 tbsp taco seasoning
- 8 oz diced tomatoes with green chilis
- 1/2 lb tortilla chips
- 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1/4 cup olives, sliced
- 1/4 cup jalapenos, diced , optional
- diced cilantro and tomatoes to garnish, optional
Instructions
- In a heavy bottom skillet heat oil over medium heat. Add the ground chicken stirring frequently.
- Add the taco seasoning mix to the chicken when it is mostly cooked. Add the tomatoes with green chilis. Cook about 5 more minutes then remove from heat and pour chicken aside.
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- Add tortilla chips to the skillet or a baking sheet.
- Top with chicken, then shredded cheese.
- Bake until cheese is bubbly and slightly browned, about 10 minutes.
- Top with olives, jalapenos, cilantro and tomatoes.
