I was given products from the Martha Stewart Christmas line to decorate with. All opinions are my own. 33
I love the classic look of garlands and long staircases in the winter. There is something so welcoming about warm twinkling lights all over the house that I just love! Unfortunately, our staircase- while gorgeous and white- is kind of awkward to decorate. There are harsh angles, a long loft railing off to one side, and a weird overhang over our entryway closet. It also opens to our living room which has large vaulted ceilings- giving it the look of a large room- but the floorspace is a bit small. It can be really tricky to incorporate additional decor without it looking either too small or too overpowering for the space.
When I got asked by the Martha Stewart team to check out some of their fabulous Christmas decor at Home Depot- I was thrilled to check it out and add some of Martha’s fabulous touches to our home.
Yesterday I shared our mini Home Tour of our entryway- and I’m excited to share some of the same products inside for this entryway!
I loved working with the Martha Stewart greenery because they have a great mix of faux branches that are easily bendable, and realistic looking sprigs interspersed. They also have lots of pinecones and berries to make the garland even more festive. The 9′ garlands worked well to tie into tough spots where our railing makes a sharp drop or turn- and the lights were perfectly positioned. I didn’t have to do much work to get them looking great right out of the box!
I added some gorgeous swag to the bottom of the staircase, and hung a large wreath over our window right next to our Christmas tree. It actually backs up to the wreath we have hung outside!
