Can you believe it is already May? I am completely besides myself- where has the first part of this year gone? things seem to be moving SO quickly lately! At least with swing in full spring, we finally get to enjoy one of my favorite parts of seeing our temperatures rise- gorgeous flowers peeking out everywhere you look! This month, a group of my favorite bloggers and I got together to celebrate all things may flowers- and I’m bringing this delicious, sweet, and refreshing Floral Pink Sangria and Virgin Sangria to the party!
Guys- this “sangria” is completely and utterly delicious. It is sweet, bubbly, and the perfect drink to serve at any party. And I know sometimes when you see recipes for drinks with wine and they say they have a non-alcoholic version it is sometimes lacking- but really- the Virgin Pink Floral Sangria is TO. DIE. FOR! It is great drink for wedding showers, baby showers, and garden parties.
Isn’t it pretty? We’re putting flowers IN the drink! Pop in a pretty straw and pass out to the crowd for an instantly elegant affair. I used edible flowers that I found at my local supermarket in the salad/herb section (if you can’t find them at your local grocery chain, Whole Foods almost always has them in stock- never fail.)
If you are buying flowers, you need to be sure they are food grade and preferably organic (who wants to drink fertilizer or pesticides?), and if you grow your own please be sure not to use any kind of fertilizer in the pot. Basically- treat it like you would growing lettuce and microgreens, and you’ll have pretty flowers you can add to drinks all summer!
Want to get even more floral inspiration? Then you HAVE to check out some of the other amazing May Flowers projects my friends came up with! The talent in this group always astounds me… look at all that color!
