Can you believe Thanksgiving is almost here? If you feel like the holidays are just flying by this year, you aren’t alone! I’m really excited to share some fun, beautiful and easy Last Minute Thanksgiving Table Decorations I put together from products at JoAnn Fabric and Craft Stores!
For Thanksgiving, I try to incorporate a rustic, natural look that isn’t too fussy or over complicated- I like my food to shine! But that doesn’t mean I don’t like to break out some special decor, either.
First off, I got some Martha Stewart liquid gilding to dress up some old chargers and give them a little extra sparkle and shine. I used gold gilding and simply painted the chargers in a circular motion. Be sure to air them out WELL before serving dinner anywhere near them- it has a strong smell. Also, DO NOT EAT on anything painted with liquid gilding. These are just chargers I place my plates on.
Next up, I laid down a rough and knotty seagrass-like utility fabric that I cut into a long table runner by cutting the yard in half lengthwise and then sewing it together in the middle. I washed it in hot water to make it look a little more worn and loosen the weave of the fabric a bit.
I then added a moss square that I cut into fourths and laid it down along the middle of the tablerunner for a nice, green, natural touch.
Next up, I grabbed a bunch of fall hued leaves and garlands, and added them into a pretty ceramic fluted vase I keep on my dining room table, and scattered paper mache apples, pumpkin and pears for a little bit of a foodie theme!
I finished my understated table off with some small funkins (I think I grabbed the last tiny ones I could find right after Halloween) and placed them on different sized candlestick holders. I love the visual interest they bring at different heights!
