I was recently given the opportunity to make over my backyard. Um, yes, please- our backyard is seriously uninspired.
While the grass is having a hard time in life, and we are in serious need of more trees and shrubs, the saddest part of our backyard was our gorgeous patio. We have a huge, beautiful concrete patio that wraps around our backyard (complete with firepit) that I had put in when I bought the house, but it has never really come to life with the boring furniture we had on it.
So, for an early Mother's Day present, I headed to Kmart to find some new ways to spruce up our space. Read on to see more pics and how I did it!
First off, I needed to decide what I wanted to buy. This was the hard part- but Kmart's website makes it really easy. I was actually knocked out with a really bad infection all week, so I knew I needed to do a majority of my shopping online, since a fever doesn't make for inspired shopping trips.
No problem- I found everything quickly and easily. I picked out items that were in stock in our local Kmart, and was really happy to learn I could not only put them on layaway for a very reasonable "down" amount- (I wanted to lock in the BEST prices from the current sale while I slept on my purchases for a few nights...), but I could also use Paypal to checkout, as well! I love being able to use my paypal account, since that is how I am paid through my Etsy shop and blog. No money transfers makes this mommy happy!
So, how easy is Layaway?
Here's a screenshot of my completed layaway order, with all of the terms clearly spelled out, along with payment schedule.
Since I knew I was purchasing the items, I went ahead and paid of my layaway online before I headed in to the store. It was super simple to complete- and when I got to the store and headed to the layaway desk, everything was there ready for me! And the little items were even shrink wrapped together which made it really easy to carry out!
our layaway items all ready to go!
While there picking up the layaway items, my dad and I were on the hunt for a wicker deep seating chair to add to my existing wicker patio furniture, as well as some planters and an outdoor chandelier. Please click on over to my Google+ story to see more about our shopping trip and some of the gorgeous items kmart is currently offering!
I picked up...
this gorgeous chandelier,
A super comfy wicker chair (to match my existing wicker furniture),
wicker plant stand, plants, and outdoor toss pillows,
and this dining table with wicker resin dining chairs (don't judge my dilapidated grill in the background, that is next on my must-buy list).

Someone loves the patio SO much, he was mad when I closed the door and he couldn't go through his new Magic Mesh curtain (those things seriously ROCK) and come play with me (it was post-bath and pre-bed time).
