You’ve figured out the angles, and how to set your camera to macro mode. You have a simple background, and great lighting. But your pictures still aren’t perfect. Why, you might ask? You need to edit them! While I am a huge devotee to Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom, not everyone can afford fancy editing software. There are a number of free sites you can use online, however to help take your shots to the next level. Today I am going to use picnik, a free online website.
First, we will take a photo of a product. I took this with a point and shoot, so you can get a sense for image quality. Yes, this picture would have looked a LOT better if I used my DSLR, and studio lighting- but not everyone has one, and I don’t want to give unrealistic results for readers who do not own a DSLR. It’s not a bad shot, but it is a little dark and the colors are a little washed out.
Next, go to www.picnik.com or your favorite photo editing site.
