We recently threw little man a Pooh themed party for his 2nd birthday. It was a fun, laid-back affair at his Great-Grandparents farm, and I tried to keep it relatively low-fuss. (Which was HARD for a crafter like myself!)I had seen lots of completely over the top Pooh parties on Pinterest, but I decided to skip the fuss and spend more time with the little birthday boy instead of hanging decorations.
My favorite part of the whole party was the lovely little dessert cart I made using a garden cart and some lovely touches.
We had a Honey Pot (a thrift store ceramic jar found for $2, and handpainted to say “hunny”), a cookie plate, and some vintage cake trays stacked on a candle holder to display some homemade cupcakes (they weren’t the prettiest, but they were easy, and TASTY!)
I spread Spanish moss around the top of the cart to give it more of a country feel, and accented it with a beautiful cartoon-inspired button flower bouquet.
Underneath the cart was a big vintage metal tub full of mason jars pre-filled with Kool Aid. They were a HUGE hit along with the multi-colored paper straws and daisy jar lids I got from the Tomkat Studio.
You could easily use this as a country Pooh-themed baby shower for a quick, whimsical and elegant dessert display! I loved it and hope you do, too!
