Ingredients

  • 1 French bread loaf baguette
  • ½ cup 1 stick unsalted butter, softened*
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder*
  • 2 cloves garlic minced*
  • 1 teaspoon Italian herb seasoning or a mix of dried basil, oregano, and parsley*
  • ½ teaspoon salt adjust to taste*
  • Fresh parsley chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). This will ensure that your garlic bread bakes to perfection.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, garlic powder, Italian herb seasoning, and salt. Mix everything together until well combined. You can adjust the seasonings to suit your taste preferences.
  • Carefully slice the French bread loaf in half lengthwise. If you prefer individual slices, you can also cut the loaf into smaller pieces.
  • Spread the prepared garlic herb butter mixture evenly over the cut sides of the French bread. Ensure you cover the entire surface for maximum flavor.
  • If you want a softer texture, you can wrap the prepared garlic bread in aluminum foil. This will help lock in moisture during baking.
  • Place the prepared garlic bread, either wrapped in foil or directly on a baking sheet, into the preheated oven. Bake for about 10-15 minutes, or until the bread is heated through and the edges turn golden brown. If you prefer a crispier texture, you can broil it for a minute or two at the end.
  • If desired, sprinkle freshly chopped parsley over the hot garlic bread for a burst of color and added freshness.
  • Allow the garlic bread to cool slightly, then slice it into pieces and serve. It's best enjoyed while still warm and fragrant.
