Cheesy Pepperoni Pizza Dip

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 white onion diced
  • 5 cloves garlic diced
  • 8 oz mozzarella cheese
  • 6 oz cream cheese
  • 8 oz canned diced tomatoes with basil
  • ½ cup diced basil
  • 15 slices pepperoni or 1/2 a large stick cut into small bites.

Instructions

  • In a cast iron skillet, heat oil until shimmery.
  • Add onion and let brown, about 5 minutes.
  • Add garlic when onion is slightly browned.
  • Stir and let brown and soften another 5 minutes.
  • Add cheese and diced tomatoes.
  • Let cheese melt, stirring often to prevent from sticking.
  • Add pepperoni and freshly diced basil when cheese is melted.
  • Serve with breadsticks, chips, or pieces of bread!
