Ingredients

  • ½ cup salted butter softened
  • ½ cup white granulated sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 cup molasses
  • 1 ½ cups crushed pecans
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoons vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  • In a medium sized mixing bowl, prepare the shortbread crust. Use an electric hand mixer to combine the butter, granulated sugar, and flour until the butter is reduced to pea sized pieces.
  • Press the crust into a 9x13 inch glass baking dish and bake for 20 minutes.
  • While the crust is baking, whisk together the brown sugar, molasses, crushed pecans, eggs, and vanilla until homogenous.
  • Remove the shortbread crust from the oven and pour the pecan mixture into the pan. Return the pan to the oven and bake for an additional 25 minutes.
  • Allow the bars to cool on the counter for an hour before slicing and serving. Enjoy!
