Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter plus more if needed
  • 2 sirloin steaks cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 medium onion sliced
  • 3 –4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian herb seasoning
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • ¼ cup beef or chicken stock for deglazing
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Chopped chives or green onions for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Season the steak tips:

  • Pat steak dry with paper towels. Season generously with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.

Sear the steak:

  • Heat 1 tablespoon butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add steak tips in a single layer (work in batches if needed). Sear 2–3 minutes per side until browned and just cooked through. Remove and set aside.

Cook onions & garlic:

  • In the same pan, add another tablespoon of butter. Add onions and cook until softened and lightly golden, about 3–4 minutes. Stir in garlic and cook 1 minute more.

Deglaze the pan:

  • Pour in stock and Worcestershire sauce, scraping up any browned bits. Simmer 1–2 minutes to slightly reduce.

Return steak to pan:

  • Add steak tips back into the pan. Toss everything to coat in the buttery sauce. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.

Garnish & serve:

  • Remove from heat and sprinkle with chives or green onions. Serve hot with your favorite sides.
