Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 2 pounds chicken wings
  • ¾ cup buffalo wing sauce
  • 2 teaspoons butter

Instructions

  • Place water in instant pot.
  • Add trivet or pan insert into instant pot.
  • Place chicken wings in instant pot, making sure they don't touch water.
  • Place lid on Instant pot (for crunchy chicken wings, use crisping lid), and seal.
  • Cook on high pressure according to manufacturer's instructions; set timer for 10 minutes.
  • Allow 10 to 15 minutes for pressure to build.
  • In a small pot, combine wing sauce and butter and heat on medium until butter is melted, and whisk until well combined.
  • Release pressure carefully using the quick-release method according to manufacturer's instructions, about 5 minutes.
  • Unlock and remove the lid carefully. Transfer wings to a large bowl and pour sauce over wings.
  • Toss to coat.
  • Optional: for extra crispy wings, set an oven rack about 6 inches from the heat source and preheat the oven's broiler to high.
  • Broil wings for 5 minutes.
  • Flip wings and cook until crispy, about 5 minutes more.
  • Toss with any remaining sauce if desired.
