Dill Pickle Pinwheel Ingredients
First assemble the following ingredients:
- Cream Cheese – cream cheese is what keeps these pinwheels together and gives them a creamy texture.
- Deli Ham – you can use any deli ham you want or even turkey for these pinwheels. You want to get the meat thinly sliced so it is easy to roll and keep the pinwheels bitesize.
- Dill Pickles – use pickle spears for a nice roll that keep the pickle in the center.
- Tortillas – I always use flour tortillas for these pinwheels since I feel like they roll up well and hold together.
Steps to Make Pickle Pinwheels
Once you have assembled the ingredients, use the following method:

Prep & Assemble
Beat your cream cheese until smooth. Fold the diced ham and pickles into the cream cheese.
Spread the mixture among the tortillas leaving a gap around the sides. Roll up tightly.

Chill & Serve
Place on a plate and refrigerate for one hour. Remove from the fridge when ready to serve and slice into one-inch rounds. Enjoy!
Tips and Tricks for Perfect Dill Pickle Pinwheels
Roll tight. It is really important to roll the pinwheels really tight so that the filling doesn’t spill out.
Donโt overfill. Too much filling will squeeze out as you roll and make slicing messy. Spread evenly and keep the edges clean.
Mix it up. Feel free to add some spices to the cream cheese if you prefer such as onion powder, garlic powder, or red pepper to spice things up.
Dry the pickles before rolling. Blot them with a paper towel to prevent soggy tortillas โ a small step that makes a big difference in texture.
Use room temperature cream cheese. It spreads easier and wonโt tear the tortillas. If you’re in a rush, microwave it in 10-second bursts.
Chill before slicing. At least 30 minutes in the fridge firms them up, so they slice into clean spirals instead of squishing flat.
Use a serrated knife. A gentle sawing motion helps cut through the pinwheels without smashing them.
Make ahead-friendly. These hold up great in the fridge for up to 24 hours โ perfect for parties, picnics, or school lunches.
