Low Carb Grapefruit Gin Fizz Cocktail

The tartness of the grapefruit and the earthy juniper combine together with the sweetness of the simple syrup and the bubbles in the soda in this perfectly-proportioned drink.

While lemons and limes tend to be bartending staples, mixing up your cocktail game with a grapefruit drink is a delicious twist.

In addition to tasting great, grapefruit adds a beautiful pink coral color to any table. This cocktail is perfect for a fun brunch or picnic.

How to Make Grapefruit Gin Fizz Cocktail

First, gather your ingredients for this gin fizz:

Gin – Classic and sophisticated, gin is always in style. The hints of juniper and pine are perfectly offset by the tart citrus in this drink. For this cocktail I recommend a gin with more floral notes and less anise.

Grapefruit Mixer or Grapefruit Juice – For this recipe I used the Betty Buzz (LINK) Grapefruit Mixer. It’s tart and sweet without being overpowering. You can also use fresh Grapefruit Juice and simply syrup.

Simple Syrup – Simple syrup is easy to make, mix equal parts sugar and water and heat in a medium saucepan until the sugar is completely dissolved. Cool.

Ice – The world’s top mixologists all say that the secret to a good cocktail is in the ice. Good ice is a function of good water and the size and structure of the ice. There are many different ice trays (LINKS TO AMAZON) that you can test out to see what you prefer.

Use this Method:

In a cocktail shaker, combine the gin, grapefruit soda, and grapefruit juice over a few cubes of ice.

Shake vigorously.

Pour over a glass of ice.

Garnish with a sprig of mint or rosemary if desired.

Sip and relax.

Tips and Tricks to a Perfect Gin Fizz Cocktail

Fresh. This cocktail is best when at its freshest, so I recommend making it right before you serve it for the best flavor.

Make in Bulk. If you’re making it for several people, I recommend doubling or tripling this drink and mixing it in a pitcher – it’s easy and delicious and will impress your friends.
