Negroni Flavored Gummy Bears
Negroni gummy bears are a creative and playful twist on the classic Negroni cocktail, encapsulating its distinctive bittersweet flavor in a chewy, candy form. These gummy bears combine the iconic blend of gin, vermouth, and Campari, creating a unique adult treat that echoes the herbal, citrusy, and slightly bitter notes of the original drink. Their vibrant red-orange hue mirrors the alluring color of a traditional Negroni, making them not only delicious but also visually appealing. Ideal for cocktail enthusiasts and candy lovers alike, Negroni gummy bears offer a novel way to enjoy the essence of a beloved cocktail in a fun, non-alcoholic, and portable format.
Negronis are a traditional Italian cocktail with one part gin, one part vermouth, and one part Campari. Traditionally, a negroni uses sweet vermouth – but since we are adding to candy, for this recipe we are using a dry vermouth to better balance the flavor. Campari is a bitter liqueur, with a bright red color thanks to the botanicals it is made with. Itโs similar to Aperol, but a bit more bitter.

Tips and Tricks for Making Spiked Gummy Bears
Choose Quality Ingredients: Since the flavor of the gummy bears depends heavily on the ingredients, use high-quality gin, vermouth, and Campari for the best taste.
Correct Gelatin Ratio: Getting the right amount of gelatin is crucial for achieving the perfect chewy texture. Too much can make the gummies too hard, while too little can make them too soft.
Balanced Flavor Profile: Adjust the ratio of gin, vermouth, and Campari to suit your taste. Some prefer a more bitter gummy, while others might like it sweeter or more citrusy.
Slow Heat: Dissolve the gelatin in the mixture over low heat to avoid boiling. Boiling can cause the alcohol to evaporate and affect the flavor.
Silicone Molds: Use silicone molds for easy removal of the gummy bears. They come in various shapes and sizes, allowing for creative presentations.
Avoid Stickiness: To prevent the gummies from sticking together, lightly coat them with cornstarch or powdered sugar after they have set.
Setting Time: Allow sufficient time for the gummies to set in the refrigerator. Rushing this process can lead to gummies that haven’t fully formed.
Experiment with Colors: Add food coloring to mimic the classic Negroni color or to create a variety of colors for a fun twist.
Non-Alcoholic Version: For a non-alcoholic version, substitute the alcoholic components with corresponding non-alcoholic syrups or juices while maintaining the same ratios.
Storage: Store the gummy bears in an airtight container in a cool, dry place. They can also be refrigerated to extend their shelf life.

What To Enjoy with your Gummy Bears
Dark Chocolate: The bitterness of dark chocolate complements the bittersweet flavor of the Negroni gummy bears, creating a sophisticated and balanced taste experience.
Salted Nuts: The saltiness of nuts like almonds or cashews can enhance the herbal and citrus notes in the gummy bears, providing a pleasant contrast to their sweetness.
Citrus Fruits: Oranges, grapefruits, or lemons can echo the citrusy notes in the gummy bears, adding a fresh, tangy dimension to the tasting experience.
Cheese Platter: A selection of cheeses, particularly aged varieties like Parmesan or Gouda, can offset the sweetness of the gummy bears with their savory and umami flavors.
Crackers or Breadsticks: Plain crackers or breadsticks provide a neutral base that allows the unique flavors of the Negroni gummy bears to stand out.
Olives: The briny, savory taste of olives, especially those marinated with herbs, can complement the herbal notes in the gummy bears and add complexity to the pairing.
Berry Mix: A mix of berries like strawberries, raspberries, or blackberries can bring out the fruity undertones in the gummy bears, enhancing their overall flavor profile.
Sparkling Water: A glass of sparkling water can cleanse the palate between tastings, making each gummy bear taste as refreshing as the first.
Dry White Wine: A crisp, dry white wine can pair nicely with the gummy bears, as its acidity and fruit notes can balance their sweetness and bitterness.
Espresso Coffee: The strong, rich flavor of espresso can contrast the sweet and herbal flavors of the Negroni gummy bears, offering a sophisticated and adult pairing option.
