My goal is for even the most beginner home cook to feel empowered in the kitchen.

Chocolate Caramel Coconut Cocktail

This super fun dessert-inspired cocktail that blends creamy coconut flavor and caramel with chocolate to remind you of the beloved Girl Scout cookie. This drink is typically served chilled and with a coconut rim and drizzle for a fancy high end look.

Samoa Martini Ingredients

First assembled the following ingredients:

  • Chocolate wine (3 oz Petit, or Chocovine) – Chocolate wine is the perfect base for this rich cocktail.
  • Smirnoff salted caramel vodka (1 oz) – This salted caramel vodka gives the indulgent martini a savory and sweet flavor.
  • Butterscotch Schnapps (1 oz) – this schnapps adds a wonderful buttery richness.
  • Caramel sauce and Chocolate sauce – these sauces are perfect to line the glass with.
  • Coconut flakes (sweetened) – I use coconut flakes to line the glass, it gives the drink real flair.

Steps to Make Samoa Martinis

Prepare the Glass. Create a “decor station” by adding a dollop of chocolate sauce to a plate. Dip and twist the rim in chocolate sauce. On a second plate, place a thin layer of coconut flakes. Then, dip the rim in coconut flakes until it is evenly coated. Drizzle caramel sauce inside the glass.

Assemble the Drink. In a cocktail shaker, add ice, chocolate wine, vodka, and butterscotch schnapps. Shake vigorously for 15 seconds. Pour into prepared glass.

Garnish and Serve. Garnish with whipped cream, chocolate, and caramel sauce. Enjoy!

Tips and Tricks for Making Coconut Martinis

Pick the Caramel. Choose a caramel sauce that is thick, not runny for the sauce.
Drizzle. Use a nice chocolate syrup or melted chocolate to get a light swirl/drizzle which adds a richer finish.

Shake vs. Stir. If you want a more creamy smooth texture use the shake method. If you want a mostly liquor and syrup/classic martini style use the stir method.

Too Sweet…? If your martini is too sweet try adding a pinch of salt and a squeeze of citrus.
