Easy Fruit Pizza Crust

You can make fruit pizza two ways – using a pre-made sugar cookie mix, or using a from scratch sugar cookie recipe.

How To Make Fruit Pizza Crust

Fruit pizza uses a delicious sugar cookie base, baked in a large circle shape, as the “crust” for pizza.

From Scratch:

Please use our Best Ever Sugar Cookies Recipe and prepare according to directions until formed as dough, then use method below to shape as “pizza”.

  • 1 (17.5-oz) sugar cookie mix
  • 1 stick of butter, melted
  • 3 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and line a large baking pan with parchment paper or spray with non-stick spray. Add the cookie mix, butter, flour and egg to a large bowl and stir to combine. Roll the dough out into a large even circle on the prepared baking pan then cut off any rough edges. Bake for 8-12 minutes or until the edges of the cookie turn a light golden color. Remove it from the oven and let it cool completely.

Easy Fruit Pizza Topping

Just like pizza needs a great sauce, this fruit pizza needs a topping to help the fruit stick and bring all the flavors together.

This topping is pretty much just like a cream cheese frosting – you can swap the cream cheese for marscapone or ricotta for a less sweet version!

How To Make Fruit Pizza Topping

  • 1 (8-oz) package of cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract or imitation vanilla flavor
  • ¼ teaspoon of salt-   1 cup of powdered sugar, sifted

Beat the cream cheese in a medium size bowl until smooth then add the vanilla and salt and beat again until smooth. Sift in the powdered sugar and beat once again until smooth. Spread the mixture over the sugar cookie in an even layer.

For best results, don’t add cream cheese fruit pizza topping on cookie “crust” until it is completely cooled, or it will melt and become runny.
