Easy Ranch Turkey Burgers
These burgers are a great way to feel good about what you’re serving – they are packed with flavor, fresh ingredients, and use turkey to taste great.
These burgers are great for family dinner, or even a party – they are an economical choice, and great on the grill, pan fried, or even made in an air fryer. You’re going to crave these easy turkey burgers all the time!
How to make Ranch Turkey Burgers
Assemble the following ingredients:
Turkey Burger Patties
- Ground turkey – ground turkey doesn’t have as much fat as beef and is a much healthier alternative.
- Red onion – red onion has a sweet sharp flavor and will caramelize when cooked in the pan.
- Basil – basil has a strong herbaceous flavor and pairs really well with ranch seasoning.
- Ranch Seasoning – ranch seasoning mix contains buttermilk powder, dried parsley and dill, garlic and onion powder, dried chives, salt and pepper. It’s the main distinct flavor in these burgers.
- Black pepper – black pepper brings just a bit of heat to these burgers. Use fresh ground.
Avocado Ranch Aioli:
- Avocado – avocado is high in fat and omega oils which makes it really rich and creamy. Use an avocado that is light and softens slightly when you squeeze it.
- Ranch seasoning – ranch seasoning in the aioli enhances and reflects the flavors in the turkey burgers.
- Mayo – mayo is the perfect rich base for this aioli and will make it smooth.
- Sour cream – sour cream is slightly thinner than mayo and makes a creamy smooth sauce.
- Garlic cloves – garlic cloves have a very strong flavor that is hard to beat or match. Use garlic that is as fresh as possible.
- Lemon juice – lemon is very acidic and brightens the aioli.
- Sea salt – I use a fine grain sea salt that enhances the flavors of all the other ingredients, especially the avocado.
- Brioche Buns – you can use whichever buns you want but I prefer rich soft Brioche buns.
- Colby cheese slices – Colby cheese is mild but will add a melted creamy element.
- Butter lettuce – butter lettuce is great because one large piece can cover the bun and add a crispy element.
When the ingredients are assembled use the following method
Mix the patties. In a bowl mix the turkey patty ingredients using a wooden spoon. Using a 1/4 cup measuring scoop form patties.
Cook. Heat a cast iron skillet or grill pan over high heat and spray with nonstick coating. Cook 3-4 patties at a time (depending on the size of your pan) for 4 minutes on each side. Then add a cheese slice and cook one more minute.
Mix Aioli. Mix the avocado, ranch dressing mix, mayo, sour cream, garlic cloves, lemon juice, and sea salt in the food processor until combined.
Assemble. Assemble your burgers with the patty, aioli, and lettuce. Enjoy!
Air Fryer Ranch Turkey Burgers
If you’d like to air fry your turkey burgers your ingredients and burger prep will all remain the same, the cooking steps will differ as follows:
- Preheat air fryer to 350 degrees. This isn’t essential but we find it works the best instead of using nonstick spray.
- Add 3-4 patties at a time depending on the size of your air fryer basket.
- Cook for 5 minutes, then flip the patties and cook for 4 more minutes.
- Once 8 minutes have passed, add a slice of cheese to the top of each patty and cook for 1 more minute.
- Repeat until all patties are cooked, and turkey is 165 F degrees in the center with a meat thermometer.
Grilling Turkey Burgers
Since grilling turkey burgers will be a little bit different than pan frying from the recipe below, we’re adding modifications to the recipe if you’d like to grill your turkey burgers.
- Heat the grill to 450*.
- Once it has reached temp, wait 5 minutes before adding the patties to assure the grill plates are nice and hot.
- Dip a paper towel into cooking oil and use tongs to wipe the oil onto the grill grates where you will be placing the burgers to prevent sticking.
- Add burger patties directly to the grill grates.
- Flip patties after 6 minutes, then cook for 4 more minutes.
- Place a slice of cheese onto each patty and cook for 1 more minute.
- Toast the burger buns at the same time you melt the cheese.
