Tart Delicious Pomegranate Beer-itas
I’m so excited for summer- and summer parties. To help celebrate, PAMA is giving away awesome Celebrate Summer kits- and pairing with some top bloggers to create delicious, pomegranate based drinks that will help get the party started!
I absolutely love pomegranate. It is one of my favorite flavors- a little tart, a little sweet, and it gives a lovely color in mixed drinks. I’ve been looking for delicious ways to add pomegranate flavors into drinks, and I was really excited when I first tried PAMA. It is sweet, but not too sweet, and the perfect addition to numerous cocktails. I recently paired it with another summer staple, a fruity IPA, and some tequila, to make one of the tastiest summer drinks I have had in a while- a Pomegranate Beer-ita. Like a margarita, but with beer and pomegranate instead of lime juice and triple sec. It is light, refreshing, bubbly- and so delicious! Perfect for summer parties.
How to Make Beeritas
First assemble the following ingredients:
- PAMA pomegranate liqour (4 oz) – Pama Pomegranate Liqueur infuses the beerita with a sweet and tart pomegranate flavor, enhancing the cocktail’s fruity complexity.
- Reposade tequila (4 oz) – Reposado Tequila adds a smooth, oaky depth to the beerita, with its subtle hints of vanilla and caramel complementing the pomegranate’s sweetness.
- Fruity IPA (8 oz) – A Fruity IPA introduces a hoppy bitterness and citrus undertones, balancing the sweetness of the pomegranate and tequila for a refreshing finish.
Use this Method:
Combine all the ingredients with ice in a glass and serve! Drink Responsibly.
Tips and Tricks for Making PAMA Beeritas
Select the Right Beer: Choose a light and crisp beer, like a lager or a pale ale, that won’t overpower the pomegranate’s delicate flavor.
Balance the Sweetness: Pomegranate juice is naturally sweet, so adjust the amount of added sweetener, like simple syrup or agave, according to your taste preference.
Add Fresh Lime Juice: The acidity of fresh lime juice will balance the sweetness of the pomegranate and the beer, giving your beeritas a refreshing kick.
Salt the Rim: For an authentic beerita experience, salt the rim of your glasses. This enhances the drink’s flavors and adds a professional touch.
Use Ice Wisely: Instead of adding ice directly to the pitcher, serve the beeritas over ice in individual glasses to prevent them from becoming diluted too quickly.
Experiment with Flavors: Consider adding a splash of orange liqueur or a cinnamon stick for a unique twist on the traditional beerita flavor profile.
Garnish Wisely: Garnish with fresh pomegranate arils and a lime wedge to enhance the visual appeal and add a burst of flavor with each sip.
Chill Your Ingredients: Ensure all your ingredients, including the beer and pomegranate juice, are well chilled before mixing to serve the beeritas refreshingly cold.
Mix Gently: When combining the beer with the juice and other ingredients, stir gently to mix while retaining the beer’s carbonation for a fizzy, refreshing beverage.
FAQS
Reposado tequila is recommended for its smooth, oak-aged flavor that complements the sweetness of the pomegranate, but blanco tequila can also be used for a crisper taste.
Yes, while a fruity IPA adds a nice citrusy and hoppy balance, you can use other light and crisp beers like a pale ale or lager if you prefer a milder beer flavor.
For a non-alcoholic version, replace the tequila with a non-alcoholic spirit and the IPA with a non-alcoholic beer or sparkling water, adjusting the sweetness as needed.
A slice of lime, a sprig of fresh mint, or a few pomegranate arils make excellent garnishes that add both flavor and visual appeal to your beerita.
Serve the beerita over ice in individual glasses rather than mixing it with ice, which can dilute the flavors as the ice melts.
Salting the rim is optional but recommended, as it enhances the flavors of the beerita and adds a professional cocktail touch.
Taste your beerita before serving and adjust the sweetness by adding a little more pomegranate juice or a sweetener like simple syrup or agave nectar if needed.
It’s best to mix the ingredients right before serving to preserve the carbonation of the IPA and the freshness of the pomegranate and lime juices.
