Tart Delicious Pomegranate Beer-itas

I’m so excited for summer- and summer parties. To help celebrate, PAMA is giving away awesome Celebrate Summer kits- and pairing with some top bloggers to create delicious, pomegranate based drinks that will help get the party started!

I absolutely love pomegranate. It is one of my favorite flavors- a little tart, a little sweet, and it gives a lovely color in mixed drinks. I’ve been looking for delicious ways to add pomegranate flavors into drinks, and I was really excited when I first tried PAMA. It is sweet, but not too sweet, and the perfect addition to numerous cocktails. I recently paired it with another summer staple, a fruity IPA, and some tequila, to make one of the tastiest summer drinks I have had in a while- a Pomegranate Beer-ita. Like a margarita, but with beer and pomegranate instead of lime juice and triple sec. It is light, refreshing, bubbly- and so delicious! Perfect for summer parties.

How to Make Beeritas

First assemble the following ingredients:

  • PAMA pomegranate liqour (4 oz) – Pama Pomegranate Liqueur infuses the beerita with a sweet and tart pomegranate flavor, enhancing the cocktail’s fruity complexity.
  • Reposade tequila (4 oz) – Reposado Tequila adds a smooth, oaky depth to the beerita, with its subtle hints of vanilla and caramel complementing the pomegranate’s sweetness.
  • Fruity IPA (8 oz) – A Fruity IPA introduces a hoppy bitterness and citrus undertones, balancing the sweetness of the pomegranate and tequila for a refreshing finish.

Use this Method:

Combine all the ingredients with ice in a glass and serve! Drink Responsibly.

Tips and Tricks for Making PAMA Beeritas

Select the Right Beer: Choose a light and crisp beer, like a lager or a pale ale, that won’t overpower the pomegranate’s delicate flavor.

Balance the Sweetness: Pomegranate juice is naturally sweet, so adjust the amount of added sweetener, like simple syrup or agave, according to your taste preference.

Add Fresh Lime Juice: The acidity of fresh lime juice will balance the sweetness of the pomegranate and the beer, giving your beeritas a refreshing kick.

Salt the Rim: For an authentic beerita experience, salt the rim of your glasses. This enhances the drink’s flavors and adds a professional touch.

Use Ice Wisely: Instead of adding ice directly to the pitcher, serve the beeritas over ice in individual glasses to prevent them from becoming diluted too quickly.

Experiment with Flavors: Consider adding a splash of orange liqueur or a cinnamon stick for a unique twist on the traditional beerita flavor profile.

Garnish Wisely: Garnish with fresh pomegranate arils and a lime wedge to enhance the visual appeal and add a burst of flavor with each sip.

Chill Your Ingredients: Ensure all your ingredients, including the beer and pomegranate juice, are well chilled before mixing to serve the beeritas refreshingly cold.

Mix Gently: When combining the beer with the juice and other ingredients, stir gently to mix while retaining the beer’s carbonation for a fizzy, refreshing beverage.

What type of tequila is best for a Pomegranate Beerita?

Reposado tequila is recommended for its smooth, oak-aged flavor that complements the sweetness of the pomegranate, but blanco tequila can also be used for a crisper taste.

Can I substitute the IPA with another type of beer?

Yes, while a fruity IPA adds a nice citrusy and hoppy balance, you can use other light and crisp beers like a pale ale or lager if you prefer a milder beer flavor.

How can I make a non-alcoholic version of a Pomegranate Beerita?

For a non-alcoholic version, replace the tequila with a non-alcoholic spirit and the IPA with a non-alcoholic beer or sparkling water, adjusting the sweetness as needed.

What’s the best way to garnish a Pomegranate Beerita?

A slice of lime, a sprig of fresh mint, or a few pomegranate arils make excellent garnishes that add both flavor and visual appeal to your beerita.

How do I prevent my Pomegranate Beerita from becoming too diluted?

Serve the beerita over ice in individual glasses rather than mixing it with ice, which can dilute the flavors as the ice melts.

Is it necessary to salt the rim of the glass?

Salting the rim is optional but recommended, as it enhances the flavors of the beerita and adds a professional cocktail touch.

How can I adjust the sweetness of my Pomegranate Beerita?

Taste your beerita before serving and adjust the sweetness by adding a little more pomegranate juice or a sweetener like simple syrup or agave nectar if needed.

Can I make Pomegranate Beeritas in advance?

It’s best to mix the ingredients right before serving to preserve the carbonation of the IPA and the freshness of the pomegranate and lime juices.

What to Enjoy with your PAMA Beeritas

Grilled Fish Tacos: The light and refreshing taste of pomegranate beeritas pairs wonderfully with the smoky flavor of grilled fish tacos, enhancing the seafood’s natural flavors. If you arent feeling fishy try shredded chicken tacos!

Chips and Guacamole: Enjoy your beeritas with a classic side of crunchy tortilla chips and creamy guacamole for a satisfying contrast in textures and flavors.

Spicy Chicken Wings: The sweetness of pomegranate in the beeritas can help balance the heat from a plate of spicy chicken wings, making for an irresistible combination.

Ceviche: The citrus notes in the beeritas complement the lime-marinated seafood in ceviche, making it a refreshing pairing for a light meal.

Charcuterie Board: Pair your pomegranate beeritas with an assortment of cheeses, cured meats, nuts, and fruits for a casual yet sophisticated snacking experience.

Vegetable Spring Rolls: The crisp and fresh flavors of vegetable spring rolls, especially when dipped in a tangy sauce, can be nicely accentuated by the fruity beeritas.

Margarita Pizza: The simplicity of a classic margarita pizza with its fresh tomato, mozzarella, and basil will not overpower the pomegranate beeritas, allowing both to shine.

Shrimp Cocktail: The light and zesty flavors of a chilled shrimp cocktail pair well with the refreshing qualities of pomegranate beeritas, making for a perfect appetizer.

Stuffed Jalapeños: For those who enjoy a bit of heat, cheese-stuffed jalapeños offer a spicy kick that is beautifully cooled down by the sweet and tangy beeritas.

Fruit Salad: A fresh fruit salad, especially with tropical fruits like mango and pineapple, can complement the fruity notes of the beeritas for a refreshing and healthy option.
