At Sweet C’s, I add lots of tips in all of my recipes – because I am a home cook without any formal training, and I find I am more confident making dishes when I understand why it works, and what each ingredient means to the flavor of a recipe. My goal is for even the most beginner home cook to feel empowered in the kitchen.

How to Make Champagne Gin Fizz

This delicious bubbly drink is easy to make and full of flavor – perfect for holiday celebrations!

We’re making this drink with champagne (or Prosecco, to be a bit more budget friendly), gin, and lemon – it is light, refreshing, and crisp – perfect to pair with Lobster Tails, Prime Rib, or appetizers like Bacon Raspberry Cheese Bites, Cheese Dip, Buttery soft rolls, and more!

This drink is perfect to bring in the New Year with – or to toast a fabulous Christmas dinner! You can even decorate it with some pretty toothpicks like we did for a party – this drink is perfect anytime you want to celebrate in style.

French 75 Recipe Ingredients

  • Ice: chills the drink quickly, keeping everything crisp and refreshing without diluting it too fast.
  • 1½ ounces Gin: provide the botanical backbone of the cocktail, adding herbal, juniper-forward notes that balance beautifully with citrus and bubbles.
  • 1 ounce Lemon Juice: brings bright acidity and freshness, keeping the drink lively and cutting through the sweetness.
  • 1 teaspoon Simple Syrup: softens the sharp edges of the lemon and gin, tying everything together with just a touch of sweetness.
  • 3 ounces Prosecco: add light, celebratory bubbles and a subtle fruitiness that makes the cocktail feel elegant and festive.
  • Lemon Wedge, For Garnish: enhances the citrus aroma and gives a fresh, polished finish to the drink.

What Champagne To Use

While I am a huge fan of Veuve, this recipe is best with a champagne
(or more likely Prosecco, since it is less expensive) you love the taste of – but is inexpensive.

If you really want to use expensive champagne, go for it – but you can also make this recipe with some great picks under $15.

You’ll want to use a good quality sparkling wine you like the taste of – but because we’re adding lemon and gin, it’s a bit worthless to add really expensive champagne.

What Gin To Use

For champagne-based gin drinks, it is best to pick a botanical gin with citrus and herbal notes – not a dry or juniper gin that will have a stronger flavor.

We recommend Hendricks, Botanist, or another light botanical gin – we made this recipe with Hendricks.

We do not recommend Tanqueray, cardamom-based gins, or strong peppery gins.

Other Easy Cocktails You’ll Love

These deliciously easy drinks will get you in the party spirit and are full of flavor!

These cocktails are all delicious and fun – we really love the theatrical Feuerzangenbowle – Flaming German Rum Punch Recipe – it is mulled wine in a punch bowl, with a rum soaked flaming sugar cube on top – just like from German Christmas markets! So fun and delicious!
