The Best Air Fryer Keto Rolls Recipe – delicious light and fluffy rolls baked with almond flour and lots of cheese right in your air fryer in less than 20 minutes!

If you’ve tried my keto garlic butter rolls, you know how delicious, light, fluffy, and perfect they are – but today I am sharing a version that is perfect if you don’t want to turn on your oven or you’re strapped for space and time – with these knockout air fryer rolls!

How to Make Keto Air Fryer Rolls

These air fryer rolls are a perfect, delicious keto side dish that will wow your guests at Thanksgiving or Christmas.

We are using superfine almond flour as an alternative to flour – which is a bit of a specialty item – but widely available in all grocery stores.

Air Fryer Keto Rolls Ingredients

  • Almond flour (1 ½ cup) – Almond flour creates a soft, low-carb bread-like structure perfect for keto rolls.
  • Shredded mozzarella cheese (1 ½ cup) – Mozzarella melts into the dough to give stretch, chew, and structure.
  • Shredded cheddar cheese (½ cup) – Cheddar brings a rich, sharp flavor that deepens each bite.
  • Cream cheese (2 oz) – Cream cheese adds moisture and helps bind the fathead-style dough.
  • Large eggs (2) – Eggs provide lift and help the rolls hold their shape.
  • Garlic powder (1 tsp) – Garlic powder infuses savory flavor evenly throughout the dough.
  • Italian seasonings (2 tsp) – Italian herbs add aromatic, earthy notes to the rolls.
  • Minced garlic (1 tbsp) – Fresh minced garlic delivers a bold, punchy garlic flavor for the topping.
  • Butter (4 tbsp) – Melted butter brushed on top adds richness and a golden finish.
  • Minced chives (1 tbsp) – Chives sprinkle fresh, mild onion flavor as a finishing touch.

Keto Air Fryer Rolls Method

Mix Dough. In a large bowl, mix cheese, almond flour, eggs, herbs, and spices until a large ball forms and mixture is combined thoroughly.

Form. Make 6 rolls from dough and place on parchment paper. Rolls don’t expand too much but give them a bit of room to expand.

Prep and Fry. Preheat air fryer to 375 degrees. Turn your air fryer down to 350 and air fry the rolls for about 5 minutes

Make Topping. While the rolls are cooking, in a small saucepan, melt butter and cook garlic and minced chives until fragrant – about 40 seconds.

Finish. Open the air fryer and brush garlic butter on top of rolls. Cook an additional 3-5 minutes, until rolls are golden brown outside. Remove from the air fryer and top with a quick brush of additional melted garlic butter, serve!

Tips and Tricks For Perfect Keto Air Fryer Rolls

While these rolls are as easy as mix and bake, there are a couple tips and tricks to make perfect rolls – every single time. 

Use Superfine Almond Flour. For this recipe, we’re using superfine almond flour to mimic flour – a course flour will be heavier and not give a bread-like lift and crumb.

Use Cold Cream Cheese. To help retain a round shape, we recommend using chilled dough with cold cream cheese.

If you need to let your cream cheese come to room temperature to incorporate when stirring, pop dough in refrigerator for 20-25 minutes to let it chill a bit before baking.

Preheat Air Fryer. For perfect rolls, it really is crucial to have a preheated air fryer. If your air fryer isn’t hot enough when rolls go in, they will melt and spread out, making them more dense.

For the absolute best results: preheat air fryer to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and place rolls in. Reduce to 350 degrees to bake.

Use Parchment. Lay down a small sheet of parchment paper in your instant pot to keep rolls from sticking to the air fryer basket.

How To Store Keto Rolls. These keto rolls can be saved in the refrigerator for up to five days in an airtight container. To serve, pop in oven or toaster oven at 350 degrees for 15 minutes, or until piping hot. Rolls can be microwaved, but we find the texture best when baked to hot – microwaving to reheat can make texture a bit gummy. Rolls can be frozen after baking – pop in oven from frozen to reheat! You can also slice these rolls in half and pop into the toaster for a tasty breakfast with cream cheese or lox, like our keto salmon toast or keto avocado toast instead of using the sandwich bread!

What air fryer should I use?

This recipe can be cooked in an Instant Pot with broiler lid and air fryer basket – or a Ninja Foodi with the broiler lid
Set Instant Pot at 400 degrees to broil (unfortunately Instant Pot doesn’t go to 450 which we prefer, but it still works great).

When are keto rolls done?

Keto rolls brown beautifully in the air fryer, and will get browned around the edges when done.
When rolls aren’t fully cooked in the middle, it will appear a bit jiggly and unset – and will have a dense feeling if you tap the side gently. Rolls will feel a bit hollow, and will not jiggle, when fully baked.
