Keto air fryer brussels sprouts – crispy, crunchy, salty, cheesy brussels sprouts that are a perfect easy low carb side dish or snack!

Air fried burssel sprouts are easy and delicious – slightly salty and crunchy, topped in crispy parmesan cheese and air fried to perfection!

This recipe has both keto and non-keto versions, and is delicious for the whole family.

If you don’t love the bitter flavor of brussel sprouts, you’re going to love how this dish brings out a rich, savory, buttery flavor instead of being bitter.

Air fried foods give a delicious crispy crunch – and also use a fraction of the oil from traditional frying.

These air fried brussels sprouts are low carb, easy, call for very few ingredients – and taste great!

This is one healthy side dish you can feel good about indulging in!

Instant Pot Air Fried Brussels Sprouts

If you don’t have an air fryer, but you have an Instant Pot and the crisping lid, you’re in luck!

This recipe works perfectly with the Instant Pot’s Crisping lid, which acts as a broiler and circulates hot air around your food – without bringing it to pressure.

If you love the ease and convenience of an Instant Pot for meals that are only one pot to clean – you’re going to love this recipe, too!

Easy Keto Breadcrumbs

This recipe calls for breadcrumbs – which is decidedly NOT a keto ingredient – but I have an easy workaround that brings a TON of flavor and crunch – without adding carbs.

To make your own keto breadcrumbs for additional crunch, please take 2 cups pork rinds and add to a blender.

Whiz until crushed to crumbs that look like breadcrumbs.

Ninja Foodi Air Fried Brussels Sprouts

If you have a Ninja Foodi (my favorite pressure cooker/air fryer combo – the air fry and broil method on the Ninja tend to crisp better than the Instant Pot in my opinion – and it offers more space than the Phillips Air Fryer, though I do love both those tools as well, I just like the Ninja the most for Air Frying without a larger standalone Air Fryer.)

To make this dish in your Ninja Foodi set up as an air fryer, please remove pressure cooker lid and add air fryer lid, and place brussels in Foodi basket.

Be sure to select air fry cooking method.

How To Air Fry Brussels Sprouts

Air frying brussels sprouts is ridiculously easy – toss with oil and seasonings, fry, add parmesan, finish frying, done!

Ok… that was a bit of a simplification – but this keto side dish really is a breeze to make.

Trim Brussels Sprouts

Start by rinsing brussels sprouts well, trimming stems off, and cutting in half.

Remove any discolored (lightly yellow) leaves from the outside of brussels sprouts.

Season Brussels Sprouts

Add trimmed and halved brussels to a bowl and toss in olive oil, salt, pepper, and any desired spices and herbs.

Air Fry

We will air fry brussels sprouts for a few moments without cheese or breadcrumbs to soften and cook before finishing.

Add Breadcrumbs and Cheese

Partway through cooking, flip brussels sprouts over.

If adding breadcrumbs or keto breadcrumbs to brussels, add when adding cheese after flipping over brussels sprouts.

Fry to Crisp

Continue air frying until brussels sprouts are crisp and crunchy. Check as often as needed to ensure they don’t burn.

Air Fried Brussels Sprouts Flavor Ideas

This is a very basic recipe for brussels sprouts, meant to allow you to flavor it in different ways.

I am sharing a couple of my favorite easy flavor ideas – both with or without carbs – below.

Balsamic Brussels Sprouts:

Drizzle balsamic glaze (I especially love fig balsamic glaze) over brussels sprouts when fresh out of the air fryer.

Spicy Brussels Sprouts

To kick up the flavor of these brussels sprouts, you can a pinch of cayenne, paprika, aleppo pepper, guajillo pepper, fermented pepper, sweet chili sauce, or hot sauce when you add the salt and pepper.

Herbed Brussels Sprouts

Add italian seasonings when adding the salt and pepper and use italian seasoned bread crumbs or pork rinds (for gluten free.)

What to Serve With Brussels Sprouts

Brussels sprouts go with pretty much everything – but their rich and robust flavor can be overpowering for delicate dishes.

I prefer serving brussels sprouts with meats and fish – hearty, rustic dishes that can use a strong vegetable side to cut through the fat and meaty flavor.

You can find the rest of my main dishes here, or visit our side dish archive here!

I’m listing my favorite meaty dishes to serve with Brussels Sprouts – and of course my favorite Garlic Baked Pork Tenderloin, Broiled Lobster Tails, and Air Fried Chicken Drumsticks are always my favorite go-to dinners!

Vegan Air Fried Brussels Sprouts

To make these brussels sprouts vegan, swap grated or shredded parmesan cheese for grated cashew cheese.

When making vegan, use 1/4 cup cashew cheese.

How To Store Brussels Sprouts

You can store leftover brussels sprouts in an airtight container for up to four days in the refrigerator.

Leftovers can be frozen in a freezer bag for up to four months. Let thaw in refrigerator overnight when re-serving.

To reheat, pop in air fryer basket with a light spritz of olive oil and air fry for 5-7 minutes until hot and crispy, add more parmesan if desired.
