How To Make Easter Pretzel Snacks

To make this recipe, you will need:

  • 20 chocolate melting wafers – chocolate wafers act as the glue for the m&ms for this recipe, but also give a rich chocolate flavor to contrast with the salty pretzel and sweet candy. Use a chocolate wafer you love the flavor of – some people prefer white chocolate, some prefer milk chocolate, some prefer candy melts!
  • 20 pretzels – we’re using waffle/square pretzels to give a large shape that is easy to decorate – but you can use any pretzel you have on hand. Pretzel chips also work well.
  • 1/2 cup M&Ms – Each pretzel will get 7 m&ms to make a “flower” – 6 of one color, and 1 of a different color for the middle.

We will be using the following method:

  • Preheat the oven to 250°.
  • Line a baking pan with parchment paper.
  • Place pretzels on parchment paper.
  • Place one white melting candy onto each pretzel.
  • Place pan in the oven for three minutes or until candy has melted.
  • Take the pan out of the oven and place an M&M in the center of the melted chocolate on each pretzel.
  • Place 6 M&Ms of another color around the center M&M.
  • These are the flower petals.
  • Place pan in the fridge for about 15 minutes or until chocolate is cool.
  • Enjoy this tasty spring snack!

Tips and Tricks to Perfect Pretzel Snacks

These easy Easter candy snacks come together quickly, but there are a few tips to help make them perfect, every time.

If you have trouble getting the candy to stick, add more chocolate wafers to melt. An extra wafer will help get the M&Ms to stick. You can also use edible candy glue, which is available in the cake and candy section of most craft stores.

While we make these by baking the chocolate on the pretzels, it isn’t necessary – we do this just because it’s frankly the easiest way to make a big batch very quickly. You can also melt the wafers in the fridge or on the stove and then top each pretzel with melted chocolate and place candies in the shape of a flower instead of baking.
