I’m not gonna sugar coat this- this appetizer isn’t going to help you lose weight. It’s loaded with delicious, gooey cheese and crispy crunchy fries- as well as delicious taco meat and fajita veggies! We’ve been known to make this as a meal and just dig in with forks right off the baking sheet- it’s that good!
If you’re looking to make this quickly without a big mess, prep your baking sheet with aluminum foil and serve it as is (as pictured). This meal is no-muss, no fuss- set out utensils for people to dish up some tasty loaded fries, and toss the foil away when it is time to clean up. If you watch your brand of french fries and taco seasoning, this meal can be easily made gluten free. You could also add a little more nutrition to the dish and swap out the fries for sweet potato fries, use ground turkey instead of ground beef, and increase the veggies. Diced zucchinis are actually super delicious in taco seasoning and on loaded fries- and its a great way to sneak in more veggies without your kids knowing. These substitutions won’t cut the calorie count much, but will increase nutritional value!
